DINOSAURS!

You should hear the moans and groans when I mention the conclusion of study of the Mesozoic Era!  It sure has been a lot of fun with this particular group.  Jurassic jungle vines and leaves are dangling from the classroom ceiling.  We've sketched dinosaur skeletons and formed them out of pipe cleaners.  We've put together a five-foot wooden model of Tyrannosaurus Rex!  Now, we're wrapping things up by writing dinosaur reports.

While all of this sounds like a good time (prehistoric or not!) please know all skills and learning objectives are directly connected to the Core Curriculum Learning Standards.  The Northville Elementary faculty is working diligently on recording the alignment of our science and social studies curriculum with the CCLS.  Access to this curricula will be made available to parents as soon as humanly possible.

In order to ease the pain of leaving the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous Periods, we'll sculpt clay dinosaurs with Mrs. Sedon starting next week.  We'll also be digging into our new unit, Planet Earth.  With the help of fantastic children's author, Gail Gibbons, we'll start unraveling the mystery of just what lies below the Earth's crust - FASCINATING stuff!

Thank you for visiting our blog.  Please let me know when you visit and how often!

Enjoy these unexpectedly warm spring days!
